“I can tell you that being in this beautiful country has opened my mind and has helped me growing as a person and as a professional.”

My name is Mónica Chávez I am 20 years old, I am from El Salvador located on Central America and I am currently a student of NCHU of International Bachelor Agribusiness Program. I have been in Taiwan almost 7 months and I can tell you that being in this beautiful country has opened my mind and has helped me growing as a person and as a professional.

Being in Taiwan has opened my eyes to a sea of opportunities. I have taken every opportunity that I can in order to learn about Taiwanese Culture, language and places. I love the idea that you can meet people from different parts of the world, from countries that you never where expecting to meet. Taiwan is a country to make your dreams come true. Taiwanese people support you a lot and help you, I believe that it the best part from here, people here help you a lot and they never judge, you really feel that they do their best to help you.

“Studying abroad can be challenging. However there are always people around you to help you. The key is to not be too shy to ask.”

Studying abroad can be challenging, this is a complete new education system and living style for me, however there are always people around you to help you, the key is to not be too shy to ask or join activities. I know that being at the university might require taking many classes and it can get tiring sometimes but one can compensate by joining different clubs, sports teams and meeting people. Your friends are like your second family in Taiwan and that is what happened to me.

I live in an amazing country and city, with very nice friends and teachers, enjoying and discovering great food every day and knowing more and more about Taiwan while I am getting my Bachelor degree. Life in Taiwan is just incredible.
