Peaceful country, advanced in technology area, good research institute and excellent facilities for work as well as good scholarships made me choose Taiwan for my further studies.
I am studying in Electrical and Computer Science Institute for International Master’s Program at NCTU. I am taking machine learning, embedded system, system oriented architecture and wireless communication network in my masters. I loved working on my lab projects, which gave me more exposer to industrial environment and allowed me to excel in the areas like Machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Teaching quality is good as compared to my country but in my country courses mostly concentrates on basic studies and not implementation. Definitely, study environment is more relaxed and joyful in Taiwan. This less pressure environment made me work more efficiently in my masters. Facilities which are available in school and lab are world class and I would like to appreciate it. The most important thing I liked about Taiwan’s study environment is the freedom to choose number of courses per semester and even the facility to choose course by wish. I also liked the structure and organization of lab and lab work.
The most difficult part was to check the courses offered at my universities and the unclear selection criteria. I consulted with my Indian friend who was already studying in Taiwan.
As I liked this place so much that I have decided stay in Taiwan for more years. After graduating from NCTU I would like to search a good job in Taiwan but I would also like to continue my research by enrolling to the PhD program.
Yes definitely it will benefit me in future. With perusing my master’s I learned many things which are very important even if I go to work anywhere in the world. As Taiwan is advanced in technology related to my studies, it will also help me if I try to get some job in other countries.
1) Improved leadership capability by leading the project group.
2) Made me a better human being and taught me to LOVE
3) Gave exposer to work on recent technologies.
I would like to suggest all the overseas students to look towards Taiwan as technology hub and take it as a life time opportunity. I would also suggest them to learn a bit of Chinese before coming to Taiwan as it will make their life easier in Taiwan.
