Well, honestly, there are some factors that could explain why I have decided to study in Taiwan. Firstly, it is because that I want to leave my home and live independently as well as to discover the beauty of Taiwan. Another driving force that had driven me to study in Taiwan is because I had realized the electronic products market in Taiwan was growing rapidly and full of potential spectacularly. Thus, it is consistently providing large numbers of working opportunities to the fresh graduates. I wish to get a high salary job in Taiwan so finally, I’d made up my mind to come to Taiwan.
The course that I’m studying in Chienkuo Technology University is Electronic Engineering. Electronic engineering, is an electrical engineering discipline which utilizes non-linear and active electrical components (such as semiconductor devices, especially transistors, diodes and integrated circuits) to design electronic circuits, devices, microprocessors, microcontrollers and other systems. The discipline typically also designs passive electrical components, usually based on printed circuit boards. The most favorite part of my study in Electronic is about robotic projects. My profession is conducting a project that presents a robot that can be controlled using an app running on an Android phone.
Basically, the terms of studying in Taiwan and my home country is almost the same, no much big difference. As what I have already acknowledged, the most obvious difference is the teaching language. In Malaysia, all of the college and universities are using English as main language to give lecture courses to the students. Moreover, all of the study material are all printed in English. While in Taiwan, traditional Chinese is the main language. To speak frankly, it had taken me sometimes to get used to it.
The most difficult part when I was applying to study in Taiwan is there is much-complicated procedure that needs to be done in order to study abroad. My lovely mother and I have been rushing so badly to various authorities department to complete the application of study visa, passport and medical checkup. Luckily that with the help of some senior student we have been managed to complete all the procedure on time.
My plan after finishes my studies in Taiwan is just that direct and simple. I will stay in Taiwan and find a good working opportunity with attracting salary as well as welfare. Other than the reason which Taiwan could provide me good working opportunities in Electronic industry, I would like to stay in Taiwan because Taiwan has much good food and great attractions.
Well, it is absolutely beneficial and helpful because I’m going for internship very soon in July until next year of June. The internship opportunities are offered by the electronic engineering department of my university with the collaboration of some corporations in the industry. I would appreciate the opportunity and work hard in order to get more working experiences.
In my opinion, my biggest achievements when studying in Taiwan is I have learned the way to socialize with other students because before that I was a very quiet and a person that loves being alone all the time. After I come to Taiwan, I have successfully expanded my social circles and get to know many friends from different country.
Lastly, I sincerely advise those who are interested to come to Taiwan to study not to be afraid and just follow your heart to do what you desired for.
