Mission The mission of Chihlee University of Technology has always been to nurture students to be physically and mentally sound, and to equip them with key competitive skills and capabilities for making valuable contributions to their fields of endeavor. Furthermore, the aim of Chihlee University of Technology is to continue to develop into a high value-added, service-orientated technological and vocational institution. The development of students’core job skills in the service industry is the forefront its teaching strategies. Finally, Chihlee University of Technology not only emphasizes professional knowledge and skills, we also stress the importance of attitude, a strong work ethic, so as to produce students that will graduate as employees sought after by leading corporations in the new global environment.

Chihlee University of Technology was established as Chihlee College of Business in 1965. The school name and motto were adopted in accordance to the teachings of ancient Chinese philosophers and sages: integrity, trust, professionalism and diligence. Chihlee started off with four academic departments: International Trade, Business Administration, Accounting and Statistics, and Banking and Insurance. The Department of Secretarial Science was founded in 1967. In August 2000, Chihlee College of Business was renamed Chihlee Institute of Technology, offering Bachelor degrees in addition to the school’s existing Junior College Division. To date, the school
has over 10,000 students and its graduates exceed 50,000. Chihlee has proceeded through establishment, development, and transformation stages under the leadership of Chairman Shen Shue Liang, current President, Shih-Chang Shang, and the exceptional efforts of its dedicated faculty, staff and students Chihlee has received high recognition in ratings and evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE). From 2009-2018,
Chihlee has been granted the honor to execute the MOE “Plan to Encourage Teaching Excellence in Universities”. Since its establishment, Chihlee has grown to be one of the most prestigious educational institutes in Taiwan and proudly became Chihlee University of Technology in 2015.




Chihlee University of Technology (CLU) was originally founded as Chihlee College of Business (CLCB) in 1965. After years of development and growth in every aspect of CLCB, the Ministry of Education upgraded the institute’s status to baccalaureate college in August of 2000, CLCB was renamed Chihlee University of Technology (CIT), ushering in a new era for the school. The school name and motto were adopted in accordance with the teachings of ancient Chinese philosophers and sages: honesty, faith, accuracy and diligence. Grounded in CLU’s motto and the school’s progressive history, the Chihlee spirits is the way we refer to the time our students spend on campus becoming creative problem-solvers, extraordinary citizens, and national and international leaders. Chihlee University of Technology is one of the most prestigious educational institutes in northern Taiwan.

Campus Location
CLU is located in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, near the outer region of Taipei City. Via the link of the Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System, Taipei City is just 5 minutes away from campus. Banqiao City is also a major stop on the Taiwan High Speed Railway, and the Taiwan Railway, which enables city residents to travel to other parts of the island in great convenience.
