Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology traces its roots back to 1968, when the Oriental Academy of Industrial Technology was established. Mr. Yu Ziang Hsu, the founder of Far Eastern Group, aimed to meet the need of the economic growth nationwide, presented his version of a school based on the spirit of “Broaden Knowledge, Appreciate Virtue, Cultivate Talents, and Prosper Nation”. It is recognized as the nation’s first private two year academy.



In 1973 the academy was renamed the Oriental Academy of Industry comprised four departments , Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer.
In 2000 the academy was officially restructured to become Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology under the authority of the Ministry of Education with the establishment and admission opened of its two year college. One year later, the four year college also began to enroll students.

Keeping up with the school’s motto of “Sincerity, Diligence, Thrift, and Prudence,” Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology adheres to the principle of “Creativity, Consideration, Communication and Cooperation” in anticipation of transforming the school into an industrial application school that integrates both technology and culture, innovation and quality, profession and common knowledge as well as theory and practice. Envisioning the future, by investing new facilities, recruiting competitive faculty, designing forefront courses, undertaking innovative research and enhancing teaching quality, we attempt to thrive and become the model of vocational education.

As AEUST enters its fourth decades, our goal is to become the leading center of discovery and learning in the field of vocational education. It is our collective efforts from all school staff and support of the related companies of the Far Eastern Group that today make this institute such a vibrant place to learn and to explore. Our prime goals for the coming years are:



(A) Delivering the Core Value of Vocational Education

To flourish the features of vocational education, we formed an industry approach environment. Our students are benefit from a tailored approach that helps them to get the most from their studies. We encourage our students to Think with Hand, Think with Mind, and Think with Heart and cultivate their core abilities on Consideration, Cooperation, Communication, and Creativity.


(B) Evolving Synergy of Far Eastern Conglomerate

Under a firm support of Far Eastern Conglomerate, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital and the future Far Eastern T Park, AEUST has built a strong industry academy collaboration relationship. Following with the establishment of Telecom Technology Center, Health Care Center will be found in August, 2008. Our vision is to be renowned as a forward thinking, enterprising and business engaged university.



(C) Expanding International Strength

To strengthen student’s global competitiveness, AEUST has signed international collaboration contracts with countries outside Taiwan to not only enhance students’ language skills but also to broaden the scope and breadth of global aspect.
