Learning Chinese Japan
Hiroko Okunishi-Beach
Deciding to study in Taiwan was one of the best choices I have ever made in my life. As a psychotherapist, I’m always curious about why people do what they do. Considering that I’ve only lived in Japan, New Zealand and the States, I felt the need to go out of my comfort zone to experience a whole new culture.
Living in Taiwan has been fascinating. It has opened my eyes and given me new perspectives in life. Learning Chinese is pretty challenging, but I love the fact that I can understand more and more Chinese every day. I dream of the day when I can speak it fluent enough to carry good conversations with Chinese-speaking people so I can get to know and understand them better. Thanks to my family and friends for their constant support, and for making my life in Taiwan so much brighter and enjoyable.
