The Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering (GICE) at National Taiwan University comprises three prominent research groups: Electromagnetics, Communication and Signal Processing, and Data Science and Smart Networking. The Electromagnetics Group excels in antenna design, microwave circuitry, electronic packaging, and signal integrity, garnering top rankings in international journals like IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. Their research has earned accolades such as the Best Paper Award in IEEE Transactions on Advanced Packaging, showcasing their leadership in electromagnetics research.

The Communication and Signal Processing Group, the first of its kind in Taiwan, focuses on wireless communication, digital signal processing, optical communication, and networking. Their achievements include prestigious awards like the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology Best Paper Award and recognition at major conferences such as IEEE Globecom and ICC. In response to the era of big data, GICE established the Data Science and Smart Networking group, engaging in research areas like deep learning, data privacy, IoT, and machine learning for data security. GICE not only leads in education and research in communication engineering within Taiwan but also aims to set international benchmarks, fostering innovative talent with global perspectives and continuing to advance communication technology on a global scale.
