Forests cover about 58 percent of the land in Taiwan, which makes them one of Taiwan’s most important natural resources. Accordingly specialized knowledge of and skills relating to forest research and forestry are crucial to the management of Taiwan’s forests and related natural resources. Based on this need, the School of Forestry and Resource Conservation was established to provide education and training in forestry and related sciences.

Proficiency in the following fundamental knowledge and skills related to forest environment and resources:
◇ Biological and ecological conservation
◇ Environmental and soil conservation
◇ Material utilization and recycling
◇ Management and governance
