The Graduate Institute of Applied Physics (GIAP) at National Taiwan University was founded on August 1, 2008 in an effort to expand the research activities of the Physics Department. The major aims of the GIAP are to strengthen industrial-based academic activities and to train scientists for careers in application-based sciences and technologies. At the present, the GAIP is focusing on cutting-edge research and applications in areas of semiconductors, superconductors, magnetic materials, optical-electronics, and bio-physics.
