The School of Nursing of National Taiwan University was inaugurated in 1956. Master's degree program was started in 1984. The first Ph.D. nursing program in Taiwan was established at the School in 1997. To enable students to carry out their nursing responsibilities and to contribute to the upgrading of the nursing profession, the undergraduate program emphasizes the application of theoretical knowledge and clinical practice. The Master's degree program focuses on theoretical study and its practical application to develop clinical nurse specialists and nursing leaders. The doctorate program prepares scientists of advanced nursing knowledge, practice and education, through research and scholarly activity, creating multidisciplinary and international leaders in the nursing field.
