The mission of the department is to prepare students’ competencies in their professions via two pathways: a four-year program or a two-year program. Both programs lead to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree with a major in nursing, and a qualification to take the national RN licensure examination in Taiwan. Academic and clinical programs provide students with a sound knowledge foundation and a wide variety of clinical experiences in internship. Teaching strategies such as concept mapping, simulation modeling, team-based learning, interactive response system and online learning are utilized to enhance students’ comprehension in various subjects. Graduates are highly successful in passing the licensure examination on the first attempt; the graduates’ pass rate consistently exceeds national average pass rates. The BSN prepares professional nurses for work in settings like hospitals, school, community healthcare settings, and other nurse-operated care settings, such as post-partum care centers or nursing homes.
