Established in 1946, Department of physics in NTU is the oldest and most prestigious institute in Taiwan that conducts physics education and research. Besides the four- year bachelor program, Institute of Physics, Institute of Astrophysics and Institute of Apply Physics were successively set up to offer both master and Ph.D. programs. At present there are 45 full time faculty members and around 650 students in the Physics Department. The proportions of numbers of bachelor, master and Ph. D. students are 2/5, 2/5 and 1/5, respectively. Professors, researchers and students scatter in the physics building, Astro-Math building and Leung’s cosmology building to do research and study. Our research achievement and the cultivation of talent have been recognized internationally and domestically. We hope to be able to provide the optimal environment in which future generations of physics students can continue to seek excellence in studies and research.
